The family of Love Island's Amy Hart have taken to Instagram to release a statement after a series of hateful comments and death threats were made against the Islander.

The comments came flooding in after the departure of her fellow contestants Joe and Elma.
This left fans to believe that she had betrayed her fellow housemate and friend Lucie.

However, things escalated when fans began to accuse Amy of bullying and not supporting Lucie when she needed her.
Over the past few episodes Amy has expressed that she feels that Lucie hangs out the guys more than the girls.
This of course resulted in tears for Lucie as she felt that nobody understood her in the house and left viewers feeling that Amy had abandoned her.
The backlash resulted in Amy's family and friends falling victim to online abuse.
As a result they took to Hart's Instagram account and released the following statement.
