Tom Brady has officially signed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, less than a week after ending his stellar 20-year spell with the New England Patriots.

The six-time Super Bowl champion and three-time Super Bowl MVP has opted to make the move to Florida on a two-year deal, after resisting interest from the LA Chargers.

Brady is considered by many to be the greatest quarterback in the history of the game, racking up 14 Pro Bowl selections, two NFL Offensive Player of the Year awards, 541 touchdown passes and nearly 75,000 passing yards.

"Tom is a proven champion who has achieved greatness on the field because he demands the best out of himself and his teammates," said Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht, who was part of the Pats' scouting staff back in 2000.

"I've known Tom since we drafted him in New England 20 years ago and through this process it became very clear that his desire to be a champion burns as strong today as it ever has.

"He possesses the type of rare natural leadership qualities that will immediately impact our entire organization."

Brady replaces Jameis Winston as the Buccaneers' starting quarterback, with former NFL first round draft pick Winston heading into free agency after five seasons with the Bucs.
