Kevin Moran has confirmed he's retiring from the Waterford senior hurling panel.
He'd spent 16 years on the panel, winning a pair of Munster titles.
The De La Salle clubman made his Deise debut under Justin McCarthy in 2006, first in the league against neighbours Wexford, and then as a substitute for Tony Browne in a qualifier win over Westmeath.
The following year he started in midfield alongside Michael "Brick" Walsh as Waterford beat Limerick to win the Munster Championship.
Moran claimed a second Munster medal in 2010, when a team managed by Davy Fitzgerald beat Cork after a replay.
He would go on to captain Waterford to the 2015 National League title, and was skipper when the county lost the 2017 All Ireland final to Galway.
That was one of three finals in which Moran started, ending up on the losing end as well in 2008 and 2020.

After 16 years I have decided the time is right for me to step away from inter county hurling and to concentrate on putting more time into my club DLS.
I would like to thank everyone that has been involved with all the Waterford senior hurling teams during my time on county panels.
In particular I would like to thank the Waterford fans, my club DLS, family, friends and my wife Aoife for being so supportive through all the good and bad days.
I would really like to wish all the very best to Liam Cahill and all the Waterford backroom and panel for next year.
