Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley says a sense of anticipation is building at the club with the possibility they will win the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division on Friday night.

The Hoops can seal back-to-back titles with a win against Finn Harps at Tallaght Stadium.  It would be the first time they've won the league in consecutive seasons since 2011.

Speaking ahead of the game, he says his players are buzzing to be so close to the finish line.

"Of course, that's what we've worked all year for, to put ourselves in this position to win the league and we have that opportunity tomorrow [Friday] night.

"So, there's real excitement but we also have to stay focused on the task in hand, which will be a difficult one."

Bradley has not ruled out the possibility of an upset either.

Harps left Tallaght with a point in the summer and also beat Rovers 2-1 in Ballybofey last month.

He says they can't be underestimated;

"No. They beat us up there last time and deserved to beat us.

"They took a point from Tallaght and I'm sure they feel they should have won the game in the last minute with Sean Boyd's header.

"They're fighting for points as well, down at the other end of the table.

"We know it's going to be a very difficult game, but we've worked from day one in pre-season to put ourselves in a position like this. We've got to make sure that we're focused on that."

Rovers moved into Tallaght Stadium in 2009 but have never clinched a league at the ground.

1994 was the last time the club did it at home (at the RDS).

Bradley says the opportunity to secure the league in front of their own fans, would mean a lot to him and the players.

"Yes, We've spoken about it as a group.

"We've always wanted to take it to this point, a home game that gives us an opportunity to win it in front of our fans and our families.

"We know if we can do that tomorrow night it'll be a special occasion."
