Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated his return to Manchester United by scoring twice in their 4-1 win over Newcastle in the Premier League.

The Portuguese striker got the first two goals at Old Trafford before strikes from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard sealed the points for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

"This is what Man United is about, this is what Cristiano is about and this was a day for everyone to enjoy and they've delivered," the United boss told Sky Sports.

"He has developed into a fantastic goalscorer. Sensing the big moments, knowing where to be, positioning himself in the box, playing a very good game.

"He drops in, links the play well, but gets in the box when he has to."

"It was an unbelievable moment," Ronaldo said of his second debut for the Red Devils. "I was nervous and I was thinking last night what I wanted - to play well, to show that I'm still capable to help the team.

"But it's unbelievable, I feel so proud and I'm going to give everything to make them proud of me."
