Since making his move to Preston North End last July, Sean Maguire had made a very encouraging start to life in the English Championship.

Unfortunately, an injury stalled his progress in the Autumn but since making his return, he has been in sizzling for for his club.

And now the challenge is to take that form into his international career when he looks to win his second cap for Ireland when Martin O'Neill's side face Turkey in an upcoming friendly.

The former Cork City striker is in the squad and as that panel was revealed today, he took time out to chat to Kevin Kilbane and Nathan Murphy.

"It's been a surreal week from obviously making a comeback last Saturday but even getting on the pitch, I was just so happy to be on the pitch and being back out there," he said.

"To come back and score two very important goals and then continue that form into Tuesday and scoring the winner against Bristol but at the end of the day, it was just about picking up the points."

Maguire also said he "feels stronger than before" the injury thanks to the gym work he undertook during his time out and also credited the Irish contingent at Preston and his girlfriend with helping him through his injury.

He also spoke about trying to establish himself as an Ireland international and his sense of not and relishing the pressure that comes with it.

"I love the pressure," he said.

"Scoring two or three goals in the last few games has put pressure on myself."

He added: "2017 was a great year and I've said it now that 2018 is going to be an even bigger year and it's started great".
