Scotland’s disappointing 1-0 loss to Georgia on Friday night in Euro 2016 qualifying was made even worse after they were left stranded in the airport in Tbilisi for hours.

The plane that had been chartered by the Scottish FA was delayed. The players turned their attention to the visit of the World Champions Germany to Hampden Park.

The preparations were not ideal as well as the long delay, the only food outlet open at the airport was a Burger King.

Former international Pat Nevin blasted the Scottish FA for their poor preparation, writing in the Scottish Sun: “There was one piece of good organisation. The players lined up very well in front of Burger King which was where they ate”

“That’s what they had - burger and chips after the game. This is absolutely not a criticism of the players.”

“They have to re-fuel after a game and the burger joints were the only options. Where were the sports scientists who should have been checking everything?”

“I was really disappointed with the organisation. The players can't say a word about it because they lost the game in Georgia so it's up to someone else to stand up for them and make the point on their behalf.”

The Scots were beaten 3-2 by Germany on Monday leaving Gordon Strachan's men are 4 points behind Ireland in Group D of Euro 2016 qualifying.
