Brendan Rodgers | 'No doubt' Leicester will qualify for Champions League

Manager Brendan Rodgers has promised that Leicester City "will fight" for Champions League qualification right until the end of the Premier League season.

The Foxes have dropped seven points from a possible twelve on offer since the top-flight resumed last month but they remain in third place, a point above Chelsea and three points clear of fifth placed Manchester United.

Leicester qualified for the Champions League for the first time in the club's history as 2015/16 Premier League champions and Rodgers is confident they will be in the tournament for a second time next season.

“There’s absolutely no doubt. We’ve shown over 33 games now. As a squad, we will fight to the very last whistle," said Rodgers.

"What the players have done to this point is remarkable. If you think of the teams in front of us, two of the greatest teams the Premier League has ever produced.

"To be producing that level of consistency - and we have had bumps - the players have been brilliant up to this point.

"The league is so competitive. Not just with the top clubs. For us to be in amongst it, is very good."

There will be a chance to bag another three points in their quest for Champions League football when they travel to face Arsenal on Tuesday night.

Rodgers may have to plan without two of his key players for the clash with the Gunners.

"We’ve got doubts over James Maddison and Ben Chiwell," revealed Rodgers in his pre-match briefing on Monday.

"They could be the two who could struggle. We just have to wait and see.

"Ben’s is at the bottom of his foot. It’s giving him pain. We’ll see what the specialist says. Sometimes you can play through it."

After the trip to north London, the Foxes will play Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Tottenham and Manchester United and the Antrim native is treating each game like a final.

"No doubt, they’re big games, hopefully we can finish them off," added Rodgers. "We won’t get too emotional on them. The focus is on the next game, but every game is huge going forward."
