Conor McGregor’s bid to make history on Saturday week could be on hold.
The Crumlin man was due to fight Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC Lightweight belt at UFC196 on March 5th, as he aimed to become the first man to hold two UFC belts at the same time.
However, widespread reports say dos Anjos has been ruled out of the fight, after suffering a broken foot late last week.
McGregor's coach, John Kavangh, all but confirmed the news on Twitter this afternoon:

It’s believed the UFC is trying to find a replacement to fight McGregor for the Las Vegas fight night.
It’s the second time McGregor’s opponent has pulled out of a fight in less than a year, after Jose Aldo withdrew from UFC 189 with a rib injury last summer.
The Notorious went on to beat replacement Chad Mendes at the event, before claiming the featherweight belt by knocking out Aldo in 13 seconds in their refixed fight last December.
