Preston North End have confirmed they've accepted a bid from a Premier League side for Republic of Ireland forward Callum Robinson.

The 24-year old watched from the Turner's Cross stands on Monday night as Preston beat Cork City 2-0 in a pre-season friendly. Both Robinson and Sean Maguire had been given extra time off following their international exploits in June.

The Championship side are currently based in Fota Island, where they have tried out hurling this week. But Robinson has been given permission to leave their training camp to discuss personal terms with the interested club, and to complete a medical.

Newly-promoted Norwich City are one of a number of clubs reportedly interested in signing the versatile forward. Last month it was claimed Preston had rebuffed an offer of £6m from Norwich for the man who scored 12-times in 27 Championship games for Preston last season.

Bournemouth and Aston Villa were among the others linked to Robinson.

It was at Aston Villa where Robinson began his career as a youth player, spending two loan periods at Preston and one at Bristol City in 2015-16. He signed permanent terms at Deepdale in July of 2016.

Robinson has won 8 Republic of Ireland caps since making his debut in the 4-1 UEFA Nations League defeat to Wales in September of 2018.
