Peter "Snakbite" Wright has reached the 2013 PDC World Darts Championship after recording a 6-2 victory over Simon Whitlock.

Wright entered the tournament as a 33/1 outsider, but is now just one match away from the title, as well as a £250,000 cheque.

He beat Joe Cullen, Per Laursen, Michael Smith, and Wes Newton on the way to last night's semi final.

The second semi final was billed as the match of they year as Michael Van Gerwen faced the 2011, and 2012 champion Adrian Lewis.

But Van Gerwen absolutely blew Lewis away, as the Dutchman wrapped things up quickly in a 6-0 thrashing.

They face off in this years final on new years day.
