Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola showed his class last night, by wishing Republic of Ireland midfielder Harry Arter well with his wife’s pregnancy.
City beat Bournemouth 2-0 last night in the Premier League, a result which moved Guardiola’s men up to second place in the table.
However, it was what happened after the full time whistle that caught the eye.
Ireland midfielder Arter’s daughter Renée was stillborn in December 2015, and his wife Rachel is pregnant again.
Guardiola sought Arter out after the game to wish him well:

"He offered his best wishes for me and my partner this week, which was an unbelievable touch", Arter told the Bournemouth Echo.
"He is someone I have a massive amount of respect for.
"I watched his Barcelona teams - and look at his Manchester City side tonight.
"For me, he is the best manager in the world. I don’t think there’s anybody close to him and what he has achieved.
"For him to offer that to me, I respected it and accepted it with a smile on my face."
Guardiola also told the press after the game what he said to Arter:
Nice touch, Pep!
