Parrott could feature in FA Cup today - Spurs boss Mourinho

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho says Troy Parrott could get some game time in their FA Cup fourth-round match at Southampton later.

The teenage Republic of Ireland striker hasn't featured for Spurs' first-team since making a cameo from the bench against Burnley in the Premier League last month and he was left out of the squad for their FA Cup third-round replay win over Middlesbrough.

In Harry Kane's absence through injury, Mourinho has preferred Song Heung-Min or Lucas Moura up front to Parrott but the Spurs boss has hinted that the 17-year-old could get an opportunity today:

"He is ready to work with us every day like he is doing.

"He trains with the group, after training he has a special programme of individual development of his qualities as a striker and this club takes very good care of the players.

"That is the only thing I can say. If he has to play with us, he will.

"He will do his best, he will show his good qualities, he will show his fragilities because at this moment he is a 17-year-old kid with fragilities in his game.

"But in this moment I cannot tell you, it is possible he is selected for this game."
