Irish Rugby has been rocked by the tragic news that Anthony Foley has passed away suddenly.
The Munster head coach was in Paris for the teams Champions Cup game with Racing 92.
The IRFU said in a statement that the 42-year-old died overnight at the team hotel.
Both the union and Munster Rugby have passed on their deepest sympathies to Mr.Foley's family and friends.
President Michael D. Higgins this evening described Foley as "one of the great figures of Irish sport", while Taoiseach Enda Kenny said "It's tragic to lose such a fantastic man at such a young age."
Munster said in a statement "It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our coach, former captain, colleague and friend today, rest in peace Anthony Foley."
Foley played 62 times for Ireland and was captained the Munster team that won the Heineken Cup in 2006.
There are no words to express the sadness being felt today by Anthony Foley's family and friends - our thoughts are with them at this impossibly difficult time.
