Tadhg Beirne has suffered a set-back in his return from injury.

The Munster second fractured an ankle during December’s Champions Cup defeat away to Saracens, which required surgery at the time

Beirne had been nearing a return ahead of the resumption of the Guinness PRO14, but Munster say he’s picked up a low-grade leg injury in training.

Damian de Allende could make his debut against Leinster in just under a fortnight having shaken off a groin injury.

The Springbok is one of seven players to make a return to full training.

Gavin Coombes (illness), Dave Kilcoyne (calf), Jean Kleyn (thigh), Jeremy Loughman (thigh), Calvin Nash (wrist) and Fineen Wycherley (thigh) will all be in contention for the inter-provincial derby at the Aviva Stadium on August 22.
