It was a mixed night for the British sides in the Europa League last night.

The Toffees came away from their 4,000 mile round trip to Russia with a point.

They drew 1-1 with FK Krasnador, thanks to a late Samuel Eto'o strike.

His leveller ensured they remain unbeaten and top of their group.

Darron Gibson and Aiden McGeady both played 90 minutes for Everton last night, which is a boost for Martin O'Neill ahead of the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers later this month.

Celtic earned their first win in this season's Europa League group stage last night.

They beat Dinamo Zagreb 1-0.

Kris Commons netted early on, while goalkeeper Craig Gordon made several fine saves to seal the win.

And Spurs were denied their first win of the campaign by a last minute penalty.

They drew 1-1 with Turkish side Besiktas at White Hart Lane.

Harry Kane gave the home side the lead.

But former Chelsea striker Demba Ba struck from the spot late on to deny Tottenham the win.
