Megan Campbell will miss the Republic of Ireland's must-win European qualifier against Germany at Tallaght Stadium.

The Manchester City defender had been engaged with a return to play protocol with her club and the Ireland coaching and medical team were in regular contact with Manchester City.

The 27-year-old picked up a knock in training on Wednesday and will return to City for further attention.

Birmingham City captain Harriet Scott will link up with Vera Pauw's squad on Friday, following on from Louise Quinn who arrived into camp on Tuesday.

The squad have returned negative results following their latest round of testing for COVID-19.

All players and staff members were tested prior to meeting up in Dublin on Sunday and then tested again when in camp.

The Girls in Green need a win next Tuesday to guarantee second place in the group but they lost 3-0 away to Germany earlier in the campaign.
