Martin O’Neill has hailed the impact that Roy Keane has had on his squad.
The Boys in Green reached Euro 2016 last night, with a 3-1 aggregate win over Bosnia Herzegovina.
Keane was a controversial appointment as Assistant boss by O’Neill, when the pair took charge of Ireland two years ago.
The former Irish captain divides public opinion, due to his involvement in the Saipan controversy before the 2002 World Cup.
But O’Neill has consistently backed his decision over the course of the campaign.
And he described his decision to bring Keane in as his Number Two last night as “the biggest decision” he has made and insisted that he has been “absolutely phenomenal”.
