Liverpool are coming to Dublin.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will face Athletic Bilbao in a pre-season friendly at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, 5th August, with kick-off at 5.15pm.

It’s the Reds’ first game in Ireland in three years, when they beat Shamrock Rovers 4-0.

It will also be the first time they will have faced Bilbao since their successful European Cup campaign of 1983-84.

The game will come just three days after Man Utd play Sampdoria at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, August 2nd.

Liverpool ambassador Ian Rush is looking forward to their game.

“We always get such an amazing reception in Dublin”, said Rush, who scored the goal against Athletic last time the clubs met in 1983.

“Even though this is a friendly game, I’m sure our incredible Irish supporters will make the atmosphere just as good when we meet Athletic Club this time around.”

Ticket will go on general sale from 11am on Friday June 2nd.
