Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says they have not received a bid for Sadio Mane from Manchester United.

The winger played in Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Danish side Midtjylland in the Europa League play-off first leg.

Nathaniel Clyne and Morgan Schneiderlin have already departed St Mary’s during the close-season. Clyne joined Liverpool and United snapped up Schneiderlin. Koeman is keen to keep hold of allt he members of his current squad.

Koeman said: "Nobody is for sale, we will do everything to keep the best players here. We want to continue with these players and that's the most important thing.

Koeman believes the best players at smaller clubs will often attract speculation - but says Mane won't be going anywhere.

“This is the worst situation for smaller clubs. We have to deal with the rumours from the press and maybe from Manchester United.”

“No-one talks about the best players of Manchester City, United or Chelsea.”

“It's not nice but everybody knows we don't sell any more players. We keep going – nobody is going away from Southampton."

Saido Mane himself has commited to the club, unless of course he is the kind of person who breaks promises to children...
