The World of athletics is being rocked by a fresh doping scandal.

Members of Justin Gatlin's team have been implicated in offering to supply performance enhancing drugs.

His coach Dennis Mitchell and agent Robert Wagner were alleged to have told undercover reporters posing as a film crew that they could supply them with the drugs.

The Telegraph claim their reporters pretended to be representatives of a film company who were in pre-production on a sports film.

They were trying to find a coach to train the actor in their fictitious film to look like an athlete.

Gatlin has fired the coach and in a statement says he is shocked and surprised by the reports.

Gatlin's coach, himself a former Olympic gold medallist, told reporters that athletes are able to get away with doping because the drugs they use cannot be detected by tests.

The American has twice served bans for doping but made a glorious return as he won 100-metres gold in London in August.

Anti-doping officials have begun an investigation. The president of the governing body of world athletics, the IAAF Seb Coe described the claims as "serious."
