Jurgen Klopp "not involved" in Salah contract talks

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he's not concerned that Mo Salah is yet to sign a new contract at the club.

The Egyptian forward scored his 100th Premier League goal last weekend, and he has just under two years left on his current deal.

"There's nothing really to say, especially from me as I am not involved," Klopp said when asked about the contract talks.

Salah has found the net four times in five appearances this term and the German coach says he's focusing on the Egyptian forward's performances on the field.

"The only thing I'm really interested in is how Mo looks, how sharp and committed he is at the moment, and that's absolutely spot on. He looks really good. There is nothing else to say."

Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino meanwhile will sit out the Red's Premier League match against Crystal Palace this weekend and the midweek League Cup clash with Norwich.

Firmino's been sidelined since tweaking his hamstring in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at the end of last month.

"He is not ready," Klopp added. "Bobby won't even start training with the team until some point next week.

"Then he will be back in training and we will have to see."
