An all Irish final: wouldn't that be something, eh?

That prospect is still alive as Leinster and Munster prepare for a European Rugby Champions Cup semi final weekend against Scarlets and Racing 92 respectively.

Former Munster and Leicester Tigers player centre Johne Murphy joined Nathan and the Irish Independent's Ruaidhri O'Connor to look ahead to a pivotal weekend and he is seeing signs of the old Munster in this current side.

"The great Munster days are built on trips down in France. You look back at 2000, they go back so, so long and there are so many memories, so many hard luck stories," he said.

"I just think that there's just a small bit of difference and I think they're a bit like the Munster of old now of the mid-to-late 2000s.

"I think that that's just going to scare a French side."

He also had his say on the Leinster back-three debate.

"It's an incredibly tough decision," said Murphy, pointing out the vast array of options to choose from.

"They are the team to beat I think. On their day, the quality they have, the style of rugby they play and how relentless they are in terms of their breakdown, their defensive line-speed, their transition... I keep saying every time I'm asked, their transition from defence into attack is incredible and vice versa.

"When they turn the ball over, they try to make sure that in three or four phases, they get an opportunity when their back-row can get over the ball and they get the ball back.

"But they are lethal when they get the ball from when they're transitioning from defence into attack, they are absolutely lethal."
