Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart has joined Tottenham on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old has signed a two-year deal with Spurs after leaving Burnley when his contract expired at the end of June.

Hart, who has 75 caps for England, will be in competition with Paulo Gazzaniga to provide backup for Jose Mourinho's number one Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham said in a statement: "We are delighted to announce the signing of Joe Hart on a contract until 2022."

The arrival of Pep Guardiola to the Premier League in 2016 signalled the end of Hart's career at City, where he won two Premier League titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup.

After that, he had loan spells at Torino and West Ham before his move to Burnley in 2018.

Hart won the last of his 75 England caps in November 2017.
