Ireland striker Idah out for ten weeks with ligament injury

Adam Idah is expected to be out until the start of February.

His club Norwich City have confirmed that the Republic of Ireland striker suffered a knee ligament injury while on international duty.

Idah started both the friendly with England at Wembley, and last Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Wales in Cardiff in the UEFA Nations League.

The 19-year old was ruled out of the final League B game with Bulgaria, with Troy Parrott and Seani Maguire called up in his place.

Norwich say Idah will be out for up to ten weeks.

He'd made seven appearances for the Championship side this season before a late sending-off in a 2-1 win at home to Wycombe Wanderers saw him suspended for three matches.

Idah will be joined in the treatment room by Canaries full-back Bali Mumba.

He rolled his knee during training in the week and head coach Daniel Farke has labelled the injury an 'unlucky situation'.

Farke does have a number of players returning for Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough, however.

"Grant Hanley and Max Aarons didn't travel to their national teams because of injury, but they are fine and available for the game," the German said.

"In the last game [against Swansea], we played without Lukas Rupp, Ben Gibson and Todd Cantwell but their siutations are much-improved and they are available.

"Christoph Zimmermann came through the last game without any problems after being out for a while. He's available for tomorrow.

"Many lads arrived back late from their international teams after problems with flights and timings. It's been a bit complicated but there are no major issues with them."
