Bohemians continue to build for the 2021 season with the capture of former Scotland U21 winger Liam Burt.

The 22-year old left Celtic last year, and missed out on a contract at English Championship club, Barnsley and League One Sunderland.

Burt has also played for Rangers' academy side, and spent loan spells at both Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic.

He's just the latest new addition to Keith Long's Bohs squad, following the close season arrivals of Georgie Kelly, Ali Coote, Bastien Héry, Tyreke Wilson and Stephen Mallon.

Long is looking forward to Burt adding some dynamism to their attack following the sale of Danny Grant to Championship outfit Huddersfield.

"Liam is a talented lad who can play across the three in a 4-2-3-1.

"Liam is a good age and has had a good football education at both Rangers and Celtic. He needs to kick on in his career now and moving to a new country and new environment can help him do that.

"He is an extremely talented player with real pace and we hope the qualities he offers us will benefit the team.

"He is a good kid with a good background and we are looking forward to Liam showing the quality he undeniably has."

Bohs begin their season on Friday March 19 away to Finn Harps.
