Wigan and Manchester City was an FA Cup tie that had it all, from Fabian Delph's red card to Will Grigg's winner and that doesn't even tell half the story. Unfortunately there were some ugly scenes at the DW Stadium last night after the full time whistle. Wigan fans streamed onto the pitch after watching their side produce a shock 1-0 win over the Premier League leaders. Opposing managers Pep Guardiola and Paul Cook also exchanged words after Delph was sent off and they didn't stop as they made their way down the tunnel at half time.

Television footage appeared to show Sergio Aguero pushing a supporter away after being approached on the pitch after the game and the Argentine has since claimed that he was spat at and sworn at. It was a frustrating night for City and Aguero but no player should be subjected to that treatment. I'm sure most players will tell you that they can shake off verbals from the stands but we have a serious problem when it gets physical. It's unfortunate that one or two Wigan supporters felt it was more important to go to the City players and not to their own players who had just caused produced the most remarkable result of their season.

The FA has decided that Aguero doesn't have a case to answer but both clubs have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players after the red card to Delph in the first half.
