Europe have retained the Ryder Cup.

They won by a scoreline of 16 and a half to 11 and a half after today's singles matches.

The hosts needed just 4 points today to retain the title, and Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell got the ball rolling with the first two points of the day....

It was then just a matter of who would have the honor of sinking the final putt...

And after Martin Kaymar beat Bubba Watson 4 and 2, it was left to Jamie Donaldson who secured the win with a 4 and 3 advantage over Keegan Bradley.

Justin Rose, Ian Poulter, and Victor Dubuisson all earned a half point, while Sergio Garcia added the icing to the cake as he beat Jim Furyk.
