Novak Djokovic's bid for a unique 'Golden Slam' ended this morning.

The World Number One fell to an Olympics semi-final defeat to Alexander Zverev

Djokovic was aiming to become the first man to win all four majors and an Olympic singles gold in the same year.

He has already collected the first three Grand Slams this season.

The feat of winning the clean sweep was previously achieved by Steffi Graf in 1988.

In an impressive performance, Zverev bounced back from losing the opening set in decisive fashion.

He responded from a 6-1 loss to concede just four games over the next two sets - winning 6-3, 6-1 - to book his final spot.

He'll meet the ROC's Karen Khachanov in the decider.

Djokovic, meanwhile, faces a bronze medal match against Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain.
