Eight Munster players have signed new contracts with the province.

Among them is recent Ireland call-up, Craig Casey.

The scrum-half is one of six players to put pen-to-paper on a fresh two-year deal, along with brothers Niall and Rory Scannell.

Also sticking around until 2023 are Jack O'Donoghue, Shane Daly and Calvin Nash.

Meanwhile, both Liam Coombes and Alex McHenry have signed one-year extensions.

Centre Rory Scannell is the most experienced of the bunch, having racked up 138 appearances for Munster to date. Not far behind him is another former Academy player of the year - Jack O'Donoghue - with 130 caps.

Now 28, hooker Niall Scannell has amassed 110 appearances, and scored a try in the recent win over Benetton in the Guinness PRO14.

Daly made his international breakthrough in November, coming off the bench in the Autumn Nations Cup win over Georgia.

Another winger in Nash has crossed the whitewash six times in his 26 appearances to date, while Coombes is enjoying his first season in the senior Munster ranks.

Munster head coach Johann van Graan said, "We are delighted to be in this position, confirming player contracts for the season ahead.

“The calibre of this initial player group is a huge positive with the province retaining the services of experienced, quality players while also securing the futures of up-and-coming talent.

"It’s further reward for the clubs, schools and volunteers that have invested time and effort into the development of these players."
