Michael Conlan will get a chance for revenge in December after it was confirmed the former World Amateur champion will take on Vladimir Nikitin in New York.

The pair were due to square off in Belfast in August but the Russian was forced to withdraw with a torn bicep.

Conlan extended his professional record to 12-0 with a ninth-round stoppage against Nikitin's replacement Diego Alberto Ruiz.

Nikitin has only three fights in the pro ranks so Conlan is well ahead of him but it's a fight the Belfast boxer has wanted since the 2016 Olympics.

Conlan was on the wrong end of a controversial points loss to Nikitin, a decision which cost Conlan a second Olympic medal and signaled the end of his amateur career.

The December 14 card at Madison Square Garden also includes two world title fights in Terence Crawford against Egidijus Kavaliauskas and a meeting of Richard Commey and Teofimo Lopez.
