Four-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome will make his return to racing at next month's UAE Tour.

The Team Ineos rider is back in training in the Canary Islands, eight-months after a high-speed crash ahead of the Criterium du Dauphine.

Froome suffered multiple broken bones and ribs and he's now targetting being fit for a tilt at a record-equalling fifth Tour de France title this summer.

“Training has been going really well here in Gran Canaria so I’m really happy to announce I’ll be starting my season at the UAE Tour next month, starting in Dubai," the 34-year old said in a short video from his training camp.

"It’s a race I missed out on last year so it’s a great place for me to start my season this time around. Thanks for all the support, so see you out on the road.”

Rohan Dennis, the reigning world time trial champion, will also line up in the UAE tour for Team Ineos with former world champ Alejandro Valverde and last year's Giro d'Italia's king of the mountains Giulio Ciccone also part of the field.
