Ireland are back on the training pitch ahead of the weekend’s clash with France in the Six Nations at the Aviva Stadium.

Johnny Sexton hasn’t featured yet for Ireland as he continues to rehab a calf injury. The out-half is set to train tomorrow and should be fit to face France.

Rob Kearney could also been declared good to go if he comes through tomorrow’s session in one piece.

Ireland team manager Paul Dean battled away questions on the likelihood the pair could play, insisting Joe Schmidt would be better placed to answer those particular queries:

“Johnny will play a part in training today but will train fully tomorrow. Johnny has been with us, he was with us in Monaghan, he’s with us all the time but tomorrow he will train fully and hopefully when he comes through that, he’ll be fine for the weekend.

“I think you need to ask Joe that,” Dean said when asked if the pair will be ready to face the French

“If you talk to Johnny and Rob they’ll both say that they’re 100% fit and ready to go, so we just need the medics to pass them and they need to prove to us that they are.”

Conor Murray’s workload is being managed he’s got tightness in his abductor muscle.

Dean is confident the trio will be fit to face France:
