Sir Rod Stewart received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 American Music Awards, held on May 26 at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

The 80-year-old rock legend was surprised on stage by five of his eight children—Kimberly, Sean, Ruby, Renee, and Liam—who presented him with the award.

Visibly moved, Stewart expressed his gratitude, recalling his passion for singing that began in the early 1960s. He acknowledged musical influences such as Sam Cooke, David Ruffin, and Muddy Waters. The evening marked his first AMA performance since 2004, as he delivered a heartfelt rendition of his 1988 hit "Forever Young."
