Organisers say protests in cities across Ireland to mark the killing of Sarah Everard in London, will comply with Covid rules.
The first is due to be held in Dublin tomorrow, with further demonstrations to be held in Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford on Thursday.
During the weekend, vigils organised to remember Sarah Everard were broken up by UK police in a widely-condemned move.
Now, protests highlighting violence against women are due to be held in Ireland this week.
Guidelines
Former TD Ruth Coppinger, who is helping organise the demonstrations, says they will comply with Covid rules: "Outdoor protests with people wearing facial coverings aren't dangerous and it will be socially distanced.
"I think protests should be considered essential, there should be a derogation for protests to take place that are essential."
While they would not comment on individual events, gardai appealed to all citizens to continue to follow Covid guidelines.
