Women's boxing will take another important step this June at the first ever European Games which are to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Games, governed by the European Olympic Committee (EOC), have been spearheaded by Olympic Council of Ireland President, Pat Hickey who fulfills the same role for the EOC.

There will be 20 (16 Olympic, 4 non-Olympic) different sports on show at the inaugural event and 11 of those will offer qualification opportunities for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Katie Taylor will act as an International Athlete Ambassador for Baku 2015 while also competing in one of the five weight divisions in the women's boxing.

As well as Taylor's lighweight division, flyweight and middleweight which were all included at London 2012, there will also be bantamweight and light welterweight categories.

Taylor spoke to 98FM Sport's Stephen Doyle at today's press gathering 100 days before the action gets underway.
