An investigation’s underway after a young boy was shot at his house in Tallaght over the weekend.
The boy, who’s just 11, was shot in the arm after a gang attacked his family home on the Belgard Road.
It happened in the early hours of Saturday morning and he was due to have surgery on his arm last night.
Joan Burton says community policing has a major role to play in putting an end to these attacks.
It’s understood the boy’s family were in the house at the time and another relative was also injured.
The motive for the attack is unclear but Gardai in Clondalkin are investigating and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
