An eight year old American boy has become the world's youngest recipient of a double hand transplant.
The complicated surgery on Zion Harvey took ten hours, and a team of forty people to complete.
Zion had lost both his hands and feet after a major infection when he was two.
Since then, he learned to eat, write and play video games without hands.
Now he says he is looking forward to being able to throw a football with his own hands.
He thanked his family for helping him through this journey:
"I want to say to you guys, thank you for helping me through this bumpy road."
"He woke up smiling," said Dr L. Scott Levin, the lead surgeon.
Zion is the youngest person to ever receive a double hand transplant.
