Up to 80 thousand Irish cars may be affected by the Volkswagen global emissions-rigging scandal.
The company is expected to reveal later which models are among the 11 million involved.
German officials believe VW has manipulated tests in Europe as well as the USA and the Tanaiste says there's likely to be an investigation here.
Meanwhile a new Volkswagen CEO will be appointed today and three executives are facing the sack.
