Feuding gangs and high levels of drug use are fuelling unacceptable levels of violence in Irish jails.
That's the finding of the Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture which has criticised the Prison Service for failing in its duty of care.
The group has concerns about 4 recent cases of deaths in custody.
And it says we have to stop detaining undocumented migrants in Cloverhill Prison along with convicted criminals.
