An initiative aimed at encouraging positive health among young people in Cabra will be officially launched today.

The Cabra for Youth Street Art Group, which includes young artists aged 18 between and 19, will spray-paint fencing panels at Broombridge Railway Station.

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Paschal Donohoe will attend the event.

Communications Manager with Iarnród Éireann, Barry Kenny, says it's one of a number of community initiatives aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour.

Meanwhile Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is installing hidden CCTV to clamp down on graffiti in the area.

The council says it has received over 600 complaints about graffiti in the past 12 months despite removing 10 thousand square metres of it last year.

Evidence of anyone caught on camera will be passed onto gardai.
