Two Men Charged After Massive Drugs Seizure At Newlands Cross

Two men have been charged in connection with a massive drugs bust at Newlands Cross.

Almost 1 million euro worth of drugs were found in the operation earlier this week.

At around half 7 on Wednesday evening, two cars were stopped and searched at Newlands Cross by members of the Drugs Squad and Organised Crime Bureau.

Three men aged 22, 34 and 40 were arrested when €600,000 worth of heroin was found.

In followe up searches in Dublin and Kildare a further €300,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis herb were discovered.

Two men were charged in connection with the drugs find.

A third man aged 22 has been released without charge with a file being prepared for the DPP.

Meanwhile in a separate seizure 420 thousand euro worth of heroin has been found in Clondalkin.

One man's been arrested after the discovery, which was made at around half past four yesterday evening.

The drugs were found after gardai stopped and searched a car.

A 35 year old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Lucan garda station.
