Two young men were arrested in connection with an alleged attack yesterday evening in Tallaght.
It happened near the Luas tram stop at a quarter to seven.
The two men who were assaulted were taken to Tallaght Hospital, and the extent of their injuries isn't yet known.
Gardai arrested two males in their late teens a short time later for questioning.
They've since been released and files are being prepared for the DPP.
