Two Canadian law firms are suing the hacked Ashley Madison website for more than half-a-billion dollars.

The case has been brought by a widower from Ottawa who claims he joined for companionship after his wife's death.

Data published this week exposed details of 39 million members of the adultery site - the email address of one prominent Irish politician was included in the leak.
