Two gunmen in Texas have been shot dead at a controversial art event that features cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed.
The two men opened fire on a security guard outside a conference centre at a suburb in Dallas. Police shot them dead shortly afterwards, and the security guard received minor injuries.
Cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed are often considered offensive by Muslims.
Garland police spokesman Joe Harn said it's not yet clear if the shooting was connected to the contest, which would have awarded $10,000 for the best cartoon.
