Gardai are investigating an attempted armed robbery in Tallaght.
Two men were arrested after workers at a post office in Kilnamanagh were threatened with a hammer this morning.
It happened just before 11 this morning when a red Toyota Corolla pulled up outside Kilnamanagh Post Office.
Two men got out and entered the post office armed with a hammer.
They threatened staff and demanded cash but no money was handed over and the men left the area in the Corolla, which was burnt out at nearby Treepark Road.
Two men were spotted heading away from the burning car and were intercepted by responding Gardai.
The suspects, who are in their 30s and 40s, were arrested and have since been taken to Tallaght Garda Station for questioning.
