Over 15,000 jobs have been created in the tourism industry in the last two years.
That's according to the Irish Tourist Industry Confederation which publishes its preview for 2014 today.
The group says overseas visitor numbers grew by 6 per cent in 2013, and are confident there will be even more growth in the next 12 months.
"Our main source markets are looking good, their economies are strong. We've got our competitiveness back in Ireland - we did lose it there for a number of years - and overall tourism is in a good place and poised to go further next year," said CEO Eamon McKeon.
