Three Dublin men have appeared in court charged in connection with yesterday's seizure of €1m worth of cannabis in the north inner city.
They were arrested as part of a joint operation involving the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Customs.
Gavin Mulvey, a 34-year-old father of three who lives on Kiltalown Road in Tallaght was the first to be called before Judge Anthony Halpin.
He’s accused of having €1m worth of cannabis in his possession yesterday at Bath Lane, Dublin 1, and of having the drugs for sale or supply.
Jonathan Carberry, who’s also 34 and from Marlfield Green, Tallaght and 24-year-old Elliott Kidd of Mable St, Drumcondra are facing the same charges.
Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given this afternoon by Detectives Rebecca Daly, Darragh Daly and William Armstrong.
They’re all from the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, which was established as part of recent structural changes within the force.
There was no objection to bail for any of the accused. Mulvey and Carbery both secured independent sureties for €5k and €3k respectively, while Mr. Kidd’s mother will have to lodge €2k into court to secure his release.
All three will have to abide by strict conditions once they take up bail and they’re due back in court for DPP’s directions next week.
