Thousands have taken part in a rally in Dublin city demanding better conditions for workers at Dunnes Stores.

Dunnes Stores workers, their families along with the Mandate trade union led the march through the city centre to the Dunnes Stores Headquarters on Georges Street.

Today's action follows a one-day strike by workers in April, over low-hour contracts and the right collective bargaining.

Dunnes Worker from Wicklow Muireann Dalton, addressed the crowd at the company's head quarters.

She says some workers who went on strike were repremanded by management at Dunnes:

Representatives and members from unions including ICTU, SIPTU, the TUI and Unite also marched this afternoon - calling for decency and fair treatment for workers.
