The victim of yesterday's fatal shooting in Kildare has been named locally as Jason Doogue.
The 22-year-old man was gunned down in the Greenhills area of Athy in broad daylight at around 5 o'clock in the evening.
A man in his 40's is being questioned over the attack today.
While a post mortem on the victim's remains is expected to be carried out later on.
